I have been your Representative in the South Carolina State Legislature since 1996. I am proud to be one of the most ordinary persons serving in the legislature, working full time and representing friends and neighbors who don't have paid lobbyists in Columbia.
    As a member of our community, I understand the needs of both Hampton and Colleton Counties. During my service in the House, those needs have been on my mind as I made decisions, many of them difficult, for District 120.
    As a business professor at USC-Salk, I am constantly in touch with how critical public education is to the future of our district. I want to continue working to improve all our schools, from pre-school and elementary levels through middle and high school to our technical and local colleges. I see our public schools as the heart and soul of our community and the most valuable investment in our children’s future.
    I have always worked to be fiscally responsible and look out for our voters’ wallets. That’s why I led the fight to cut property taxes.
    I remain committed to protect your privacy, pocketbook, freedom and quality of life. Together we will make an even finer South Carolina. Your confidence has allowed me to continue my service in the House and work for the people of Colleton and Hampton counties. Thanks . . .
